It just turned Spring, but we are laying out an exciting Summer program for the Kids of The Bridge. We have lots of fun ideas and we just need a few hours of your time to make it all happen.
Billy Goats Gruff Reading Program
We need readers, actors and craft assistance volunteers (2 hours per day, one day per week)
English as a Second Language, followed by Bible Study
Teachers and helpers are needed, but no ESL experience or certification is required. Commitments will be for one self contained 3-week session. 1-2 hours per class, 1-2 classes per week.
Houston Parks Department Summer Lunch Program
(free for children under 18 years of age)
School is out and many children will have to go without lunch unless we can bring this program to The Lakes and Timberwalk Apartments. Volunteers are needed to accept food donations in morning on weekdays, and to distribute food at lunchtime (1-3 hours per day). Pick your day or coordinate the entire program. Anyone can help for one day, one week or for the entire summer.
With our new practice Soccer field, The Bridge needs Coaches and volunteers to organize games and maintain the field as needed (2-3 hours per day for 1or 2 days per week; days and/or evenings)
Come on Grand Parents !…What’s a summer at a lake with out fishing? Help teach our children and families to enjoy “catch and release” fishing (2 hours for 1-2 evenings per week)
Volunteer as little or as often as your schedule permits.
